Newsletter December 2024

A WORD FROM

Anne Rapillard, cleaning employee

Without competent and dedicated staff, the Œuvre St-Justin would simply not exist. The newsletter invites you to meet those who make it work on a daily basis. Today, it is Anne Rapillard, a cleaning employee at the St-Justin home in Sion.

What path led you to work for the Œuvre St-Justin?

I arrived in November 2022. I was already cleaning in a school in the evening, but I was looking to increase my occupancy rate. It was the ORP who suggested that I apply for this position as a steward at the St-Justin home in Sion. During my job interview, I was warmly received by the head of the home and the deputy director.

What is your field of activity?

I take care of the housekeeping with my colleague Maria who was already there when I arrived. Sometimes I also find myself doing a bit of maintenance when there is something to repair in the house, like a blind for example. On some occasions I take care of the lunch service when there are groups in the house.

What enrichment do you find in your work?

I really enjoy being in contact with students. I am interested in what they do, how things are going for them in the house. I seem to have good contact with most of them. I am also in contact with people passing through and office occupants. This makes my work more meaningful and enjoyable.

What is special about a job at the St-Justin institution?

In my other job I intervene when the premises are empty. Here it’s different. I’m in contact with people and I can take the time to talk with them without stress.

Would you like any improvements?

The lighting in the house needs to be reviewed. I have changed the neon lights in a short time, but they are out of order. In general, this is a bit of a disadvantage of this building, it is no longer very young.
