Our Students Propose

St-Justin’s work goes beyond financial or material support. The student residences form a dynamic and open community.

Our volunteer philatelists meet every Wednesday to sort, label, and prepare all the stamps and valuable items donated to St-Justin in preparation for the annual auction on October 17, 2026.

Since St-Justin’s mission is to work with students, it is essential to know their needs and desires in order to sustain the Foundation’s activities. At St-Justin, students themselves take on responsibilities for their peers for example, as members of the Student Council or as floor representatives. In these roles, they ensure that community rules are respected to maintain harmonious living, and they are also very active in creating social and friendly moments.

Last January, we invited the Student Council of the Fribourg residence, as well as the floor representatives, to a participatory workshop. Through this initiative, we aim to adapt the processes, services, activities, and communication channels to better meet the needs and desires of the students.

We are delighted that the workshop resulted
in very high overall satisfaction regarding the
welcome and atmosphere at St-Justin. Several
excellent ideas were also proposed:

  • Create more meeting spaces
  • Strengthen social connections during and after students’ time at St-Justin
  • Organize an inter-residence sports tournament
  • Foster interaction with residents (city walks, administrative support, etc.)

All of these excellent proposals are seeds that will soon blossom at St-Justin. This participatory approach is intended to be replicated in the other St-Justin residences in the near future.
